Advanced Math Prep Club: Preparing for IM1
In order to best prepare our 7th grade students for IM1 during their 8th grade year, Union Middle School will be offering all 7th grade students an opportunity to join our Advanced Math 8 Prep Club. This club will cover the 8th grade content that a student would normally miss by advancing from 7th grade math to IM1 (the advanced/9th grade math course).
Please note that this club is only open to current UMS 7th grade students.
In order to be considered for IM1 during their 8th grade year, students have two options:
1) Join Advanced Math Prep Club, complete all assignments on time, and pass the placement test with a 75% or above.
OR
2) Pass the placement exam which will be given toward the end of your 7th grade year with a score of 85% or above.
AMPC Meetings:
About once every two weeks, there will be a targeted workshop (on Zoom) where Mrs Reynolds will give instruction on specific standards and/or offer self assessments so you can see how you are doing and network with other students. While these meetings are optional, they are highly recommended to ensure all students are on the path to a successful placement in IM1 for their 8th grade year.
The Zoom link will be in the AMPC Google Classroom, and there will be a recording of the meetings posted to the Classroom.
