Ch 6: Transformations and Similarity

Section 6.1
You will use a technology tool to move a shape on a coordinate graph using slides, flips, and turns, and will use integers to describe those moves.
Section 6.2
This section will introduce similarity and congruence for polygons.
Chapter 6 Student Learning Objectives
SLO 6.1: Given a figure, I can translate, rotate, reflect it; understanding the properties of the figure are unchanged (lines and angles).
SLO 6.2: I know that two figures are congruent if I can perform and correctly describe rigid transformations to obtain one from the other; and state what makes the two figures congruent.
SLO 6.3: I can describe the effect of dilations, translations, rotations, and reflections using coordinates.
SLO 6.4: I know that two figures are similar if I can perform and correctly describe transformations to obtain one from the other; and state the similarity between them (scale factor).

On this page, you will find additional support and information relating to this chapter in Math 8.
